Last weekend we went to the Thunder Over Alabama - air show at MAFB. It was Awesome! The Guys Loved It! It was wonderful to expose them to all the different branches of our military and to see and experience so many things up close. I loved getting to meet the volunteers/service people and be proud of our country. We also, got to see many of our family members too!
There were all types of air crafts, fighters, jeeps, ambulances, virtual experiences, kids activities (climbing wall, jumpies, fighter jets, slides), and food. Aside the the Thunderbirds (the stars of the show), there were stunt planes, war re-enactments, and parachuters. We were blessed with a beautiful spring day, the weather was just right, but deceiving (many people were sunburnt the next day). Whit and I left the guys after about 5 hrs. and headed home for rest.
If you ever get an opportunity to see the show, Please Do! It was wonderful. It reminded us of the service people all around the world that volunteer to serve our country, protect us, and sacrifice of themselves and their families. It was amazing to see how so many people and areas come together to create and carry out such an effort and event.
Thank You to our service people and their families (our's too, with our Cousins in the service)!
P.S. the Great pictures are courtesy of Pilot Estes/our talented Cousin.
Love ~
Ginny
